I love this photo. I took it in June. It was a lovely summer day with my boys spent at the Mill City Museum and Spoonriver and the Guthrie Theater and Open Book and the Mississippi River.
This particular photo is an outside wall of the Guthrie. This is Sir Tyrone Guthrie, founder of this excellent theatrical center, along with my son, appearing to be miniature in comparison to the expansive image.
As summer nears the end , I am torn between wanting more time for exploring, adventuring and lazing about with no particular agenda and wishing September would hurry up and get here, ushering in the start of the school year and with it a set routine.
But when I look back over the photos of summer I know it's been a memorable one full of family and water and sun and NASA and road trips and art and history and ice cream and neighbor kids and nature and camps and camping and music and sports and movies, and I feel blessed.
I like to keep a few photos from our summer adventures lingering on my desktop so that I will see them and open them up every so often and think about the memories from that particular excursion... this is one of those photos.
I hope your summer has been magnificent! And for us, in Minnesota, it's not quite over.... the State Fair hasn't even started yet! Over and out...

Love this pic! His shirt color just pops against all the black & white! Good eye, Anna!
