Yesterday the weather was so glorious that my soul leapt for joy. This season of green and blue and yellow is why we, in Minnesota, slog through the long, dark, cold, snowy winters.
And these beautiful days and nights are why we stay out playing and strolling and eating and chatting until the last drop of sunlight has disappeared.
They don't last long here, but they are worth the wait.
Now, this particular photo was taken last week when the air was still a bit cool and the sky still a bit gray, but it marked the first of this year's summer picnics and concerts at Lake Harriet.
Notice the balloons floating off above the bandshell.
