I'm not a particularly "religious" person, I think of myself as more spiritual - and do you know why? Because of people like you are mentioning - who on earth could believe that their God, whoever that is to them, could abandon young children because schools are secular? That's so insane and hurtful. I love the way you have put this...because if what you believe isn't true, then I don't want anything to do with God anyway. I hope you make some people think about what they are saying and implying.

Exactly. As one pastor of a friend put it: it is not the responsibility of the courts to shine God's light. It is not the responsibility of the schools to shine God's light. It is OUR responsiblity, as children of God, to do so. It amazes me that people try to put the All-Powerful inside or outside of boxes.

A beautiful, heart wrenching post. I weep as I re-read this because I was thinking the same thing. I know God was there and always is there.

I completely agree. God is with us all the time. And He will continue to be with us. I pray that those dear families seek Him and His strength. He loves us and will always love us.
