Lately, I've had a thirst that I can't quite quench. I keep searching for the right juice, flavored water, chilled water, coffee, coke, tea, or smoothie, but the thirst remains. I now realize the thirst I have cannot be satisfied by liquid. I am thirsty for life; for a change; for an adventure.
There has been much upheaval, shifting and realigning in our lives in the first 6 months of 2011. I am feeling as though I need to spread my wings, feel the {hot} wind in my face, see the land {and a few cows & maybe even a combine}. While I love my city, I'm not a city girl and sometimes I need to break free. In the words of Dr. Seuss, "It's opener there in the wide open air."
I have decided to go on a road trip with my Darling Boys. We are hitting the open road this week, getting out of the city and heading southwest. We are excited and nervous about our many hours we will spend in the car. Of course, I'm not leaving too much too chance; it is highly strategically planned. The destination point is family.
So, Motherly Law is taking a break from the law for the next week or so, unless we stumble upon some points of law along the way. Instead, this week, I'll be keeping you posted on what we have learned along the route; the mundane, the comical, the philosophical and anything that seems blog worthy.
Our plan is to explore, laugh, think, sing along to lots of country songs on the radio and find as many clean public bathrooms as possible. Tomorrow I'll post my list of things I'm bringing to keep my strapped in, active Boys as happy and occupied as possible, while I am busy driving and thoughtfully analyzing my life. Over and out...

I love a good road trip! Did a lot of thinking myself, driving between Austin and El Paso during my formative years. It's been a long time since I had the responsibility of entertaining my kids in the car (they're teens now, have to self-manage in that department!). Will be interesting to see how your list compares to my old ones.
