Sometimes you struggle so hard to feed your family one way, you forget to feed them the other way, with spiritual nourishment. Everybody needs that.

A parent has a lot of nourishing to do.
A parent must nourish a child with healthy foods to help the child physically grow.
A parent must nourish the child with knowledge, words, art, nature, theatre, music and more for the child to flourish as a human being.
A parent must provide the right nourishment to foster spiritual growth within a child.
A parent must nourish his or her own relationship with a spouse or partner to maintain the love that brought them together and promote a happy family.
A parent must nourish herself or himself by maintaining balance amid the chaos that is life; by developing friendships and networks that allow the parent to grow as a person, not just as a mom or dad; and by maintaining and promoting his or her goals and interests, as well as that of the family.
This nourishing will provide the sustenance a family needs to grow and develop together in a positive way.
It's Friday…. Go eat some chocolate. It's good for you, and you deserve it!

Nota Bene:I hold these truths to be self-evident, that all parents and kids are not created equally, but are wholly individual in personality and style. Regardless of these differences, the basic needs of love, patience and support remain constant. Here are the weekly affirmations, tips and reminders. Unless otherwise noted, these are entirely my opinion. Take them with a grain of salt, or not!
Great advice!! My chocolate has been savored!! ~CA
