I started blogging last March. I didn't know any bloggers. I had read only a few blogs. Then a crazy thing started to happen. I began to connect with other bloggers through Twitter, Facebook and by reading and leaving comments on other blogs; some local and some in other parts of the country.
In May, I went to my first local blogger gathering. It was intimidating. There were lots of women who already knew each other IRL (in real life) or at least had a strong relationship on Twitter. I forged ahead and met some fantastic women that evening. Then, in June, I went to another local blogger event, re-connecting with some and meeting others. I was beginning to enjoy this.
In August, I attended another local blogger event, Blog Love, sponsored by www.lovefeasttable.com. It was so warm, welcoming and inspiring there. I chatted with some "old" friends and mixed and mingled, meeting more blogging ladies. Several IRL relationships were born that night. I continued to foster these relationships on Twitter, at the MN Blogging Conference, another Blog Love event, and meeting for coffee or a meal.
The close-knit, supportive community of bloggers and tweeters was a surprise aspect of blogging that I never expected. It has been so much fun getting to know these people I now call friends, both here in the Twin Cities and in Atlanta, Memphis, Hingham, and many other places across this great nation. It's like having a friend on the phone any time of day or night; there is always someone to talk to; get advice from; to act as a sounding board; someone to laugh with; a shoulder to cry on; or someone to say, "I get it. I understand. Tomorrow will be better."
She Has A Lot to Say
One such IRL blogging friend happens to be very talented, extremely business savvy, despite her youthful age, sassy as all get-out, loving, kind, funny and can talk as much as I can. We instantly hit it off, of course! She is also very generous and has donated her Ruffly hand-crafted product as my first giveaway, which will begin on Thurs at 7 AM and run through Friday until 7 PM. (See teaser photo above)
The Scoop
You won't be disappointed. Whether you have never entered a giveaway on a blog or enter every single one you can find, you will want to come back on Thurs. or Fri. to enter this one. But first come back tomorrow, for Wed.'s post with tips for making sure you are covered in case of an accident on your property, etc. Over and out…
Anna
