Woo Hoo! My first giveaway is here! I have decided to do giveaways on a limited basis: two Fridays per month. And I will give away only my favorite things. The first ever Motherly Law Giveaway is …drumroll, please… $30 Gussy Shop Credit! For those of you who know Gussy or have Gussy bags, no need to explain. You're probably already busy leaving a comment to get registered to win.
Gussy
For those of you who don't know Gussy, here's a bit about the Gussy Bags and the girl behind the Ruffles. Gussy is a colorful line of ruffled accessories. Each ruffle is machine sewn free-hand style, making each ruffle unique. Almost 2 years ago, Gussy sat down at her kitchen table -- she wanted to learn how to sew. And here she is now, working full-time to offer zipped pouches of all sizes, laptop bags, tote/diaper bags, headbands, and wristlet/clutches (all with her signature ruffle) to those that love a little flair. And who doesn't need a little colorful flair in her life? To read more about Gussy, click here.
The Nester wrote, "Gussy has a juicy shop full of all kinds of wonderfulness, and her blog, Gussy has a lot to say, is quickly becoming a crafter's headquarters where she features different crafters/artists and writes about her experience."
I love the mix of colors and patterns and the signature ruffle, not to mention the sweet and sassy girl who sews them. I recently received my first Gussy bag as a gift, and have recently given one as a gift too. I plan to give more as gifts during this holiday season. There are many sizes and patterns to choose from. And be sure to check out the absolutely adorable stockings, a brand-new item for Christmas.

As a mom of 3 great kids and wife to a great hubby, I try each day to give them all the time/attention and love I can...okay some days that means only cringing inwardly as I struggle through helping with algebra homework {math in not my stong suit} or trying to convince my hs son that his latest book for eng. lit. won't be that bad. Teaching my 8 yr old daughter to sew with the limited sewing knowledge I have. It's waking up at 4am to fix my hubb's a chai tea latte to drink on his way to work and sending him out the door with a kiss. It's just the little things we do each day.

As a mama, every day is an opportunity to give myself away- willingly or otherwise. It's what I do.

Oh, I give of myself by doing what I do everyday: teaching. I teach 2nd grade and LOVE it. It's so intrinsically rewarding (but it's tough!)!

Wahoo! How fun! I don't know if I serve my family in any exceptional way, but I do remind myself that the mundane (laundry, cooking, cleaning) are a service to my family. Helps keep the attitude in check :)

I am so excited for this new adventure you are on!!
I feel like I kind of hold the family together. I get the stuff done that needs to be done as best I can and try to make time for some fun stuff too. My wonderful husband drives in horrible traffic and works all day to provide for us so that I am able to stay home. So with a preschooler and toddler, I feel like I give almost everything to them right now. It is challenging finding balance with the kiddos and making time for DH that is not the worn out, just wanting peace, quiet and sleep me. But I hope I am managing okay.
As for my community, I am a table leader for Women's Bible study at my church. That is about all the extra I can have on my plate right now.

The family thing, well, that goes without saying right? I'm the president AND CEO of my household...but my community?
Well, I volunteer countless hours to non-profits that are close to my heart...like the Liz Logelin Foundation. Something as simple as a retweet, a $7 donation on the 7th...those things add up to big giant things for other people...
I wish more people took a few seconds out of their day to do the same!
xoxo

My family and I do walks and sometimes runs that donate funds to different organizations in our community. Its a way to spend time together and help others at the same time.

I kind of feel like the driver of the bus most days. With three small kids there are lots of ways I give myself - nursing the baby, giving up all interest in TV shows that I'm like for Dora, Yo Gabba Gabba, Spongebob and Baby Einstein. Most of all just giving up the need for personal space to constantly make 3 little girls feel loved. Some days I don't have sanity! I follow you and Gussysews on Twitter. @beckytwogirls
