I hold these truths to be self-evident, that all parents and kids are not created equally, but are wholly individual in personality and style. Regardless of these differences, the basic needs of love, patience and support remain constant. Here are the weekly affirmations, tips and reminders. Unless otherwise noted, these are entirely my opinion. Take them with a grain of salt, or not!
I'm convinced that every boy, in his heart, would rather steal second base than an automobile. ~Tom Clark
Take your kids to a baseball game. There isn't much that is more American than that. And you'd be surprised how much your kids can learn at the baseball game: numbers, as in the numbers on your seat, the number of innings, balls, strikes and outs; how to shell peanuts and not eat the shells; manners like standing in line for the bathroom or for a hot dog, taking off your cap for the national anthem, and standing up to let someone pass to reach his seat; and traditions of a sport, of our nation, of a family.
It's Friday…. Go eat some chocolate. It's good for you, and you deserve it!

So true! I can't tell you how many Texas Rangers games I went to as a kid. Thank you for flooding my mind with fond memories.
